Science of Synthesis Knowledge Updates – New Volume Editor

Professor Zheng Huang has Joined the Science of Synthesis Volume Editor Line-Up.

We are pleased to share the news that Professor Zheng Huang is the new Science of Synthesis Knowledge Updates Editor for our content on alkanes.

Professor Huang obtained his PhD. in 2009 under the supervision of Professor Maurice S. Brookhart. Since 2011, he has been a professsor at the State Key Laboratory of Organometallic Chemistry (Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry). His areas of research include energy-related catalytic processes, transition-metal-catalyzed polymerization of polar vinyl monomers, and first-row transition-metal catalysts for novel organic transformations. You can find out more about Professor Huang here.

Volume 48 of Science of Synthesis, concerned with the synthesis of alkanes and the introduction of C(sp3)—H functionality to molecules, was published in 2009 (Volume Editor: Professor Henk Hiemstra). The main purpose of the Knowledge Updates is to add important new developments in this area, which includes subchapters on the preparation of cyclopropanes, cyclobutanes, and hydrocarbon polymers. The first update chapter for this volume, co-authored by Professor Zheng Huang himselft with Professor Guixia Liu (SIOC), was on the subject of alkane metathesis and was published in the first Knowledge Updates volume of 2020 (coming soon online!)
