Science of Synthesis Knowledge Updates – New Volume Editor

Welcoming Professor Steven Diver to the Science of Synthesis Editor Team!

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Prof. Steven Diver, of the University at Buffalo, to the team of volume editors for the Science of Synthesis Knowledge Updates. Prof. Diver will be responsible for coordinating future content related to Volume 46 of Science of Synthesis on 1,3-Dienes.

Prof. Diver received his doctoral degree in 1995 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison under the supervision of Prof. Edwin Vedejs, before undertaking post-doctoral research at Harvard University with Professor Stuart Schreiber. He is currently Professor at the University of Buffalo, where his research is focussed on synthetic organic and organometallic chemistry, including enyne metathesis, metathesis cascades, and natural product synthesis. More information about Prof. Diver’s research interests and publications can be found here.

Science of Synthesis Volume 46: 1,3-Dienes was published in 2009 (Volume Editors: Prof. V. H. Rawal and Prof. S. A. Kozmin). The scope of the volume covers various approaches (e.g., Wittig-type alkenations, alkene metathesis, cross-coupling reactions, eliminations) for the formation of the 1,3-diene group, which is a structural unit of central importance for organic synthesis and organometallic chemistry.
