Science of Synthesis Knowledge Updates - New Volume Editor Appointed

Professor Jean-Marc Campagne is welcomed to the team!

The latest great addition to the team of editors for the Science of Synthesis Knowledge Updates can be announced: Prof. Jean-Marc Campagne, from the University of Montpellier, will be looking after content relating to Volume 20.

 

Volume 20 of SOS was published in 2007 (Volume Editor: Prof. James S. Panek) as two volumes covering methods for the preparation carboxylic acids and derivatives such as acid halides, carboxylic acid salts and esters (including lactones). There are also chapters on peroxy acids and derivatives, as well as sulfur, selenium, and tellurium analogues of carboxylic acid derivatives.  

 

Jean-Marc Campagne is Professor at the University of Montpellier (France), where his research interests concern the development of catalytic asymmetric transformations and their application to the total synthesis of natural products. He was born in Pau, France, in 1967. After studies at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier, he received his Ph.D. at the University of Montpellier in 1994. Following postdoctoral training with Prof. B. M. Trost (Stanford University, CA) and Prof. L. Ghosez (Universite ́ Catholique de Louvain), he was appointed CNRS Researcher at the Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles in Gif-sur-Yvette in 1998. In 2005, he moved to the ENSCM where he currently holds the position of Professor. A list of his recent publications can be found here.
