Thorsten Bach awarded with Leibniz Prize

The SYNTHESIS Editor Thorsten Bach receives the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize 2020, awarded every year by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

The Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize is considered the most important research award in Germany. Its aim is to honor outstanding researchers by significantly improving their working conditions and expanding their research opportunities.

Each recipient of the award receives prize money of 2.5 million euros. The award ceremony for the 2020 Leibniz Prize will take place on March 16, 2020 in Berlin.

Thorsten Bach joins three other well-known prize winners from the SYNTHESIS editorial board – former and current editors-in-chief Benjamin List (2016), Dieter Enders (1993) and Paul Knochel (1997). Congratulations!
