Tim Swager wins Linus Pauling Medal Award 2016

SYNFACTS Editor Timothy M. Swager was recently awarded with the Linus Pauling Medal Award 2016 by the American Chemical Society (ACS).

The Award is announced annually by the Oregon, Portland and Pudget Sound sections of the ACS and recognizes outstanding achievement in chemistry. The considered nominee should have made contributions to the field of chemistry which have merited national and international recognition.

Professor Swager’s work has highly contributed to multiple areas of supramolecular chemistry and materials science. His work is known to bridge the extremely technical chemical world with real world applications, such as highly sensitive chemical sensors using molecular wires which are used for detecting gun powder and explosives like TNT.

The Linus Pauling Medal Award Symposium and Awards Banquet will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington.
