Dr. Toby Reeve, Executive Editor Science of Synthesis
Responsibilities include copyediting, proofreading, and the handling of copyright issues. Also, involvement in the development of new workflows for the Science of Synthesis Updates and Reference Library, particularly relating to the drawings. Checking and approval of drawings as well as project coordination and management.
Background includes an MChem degree and a PhD in chemistry at the University of Leicester, under the supervision of Dr. P. W. Dyer and Dr. S. Handa. Joined Thieme Chemistry following a postdoctoral position in Professor Gennari’s group at the University of Milan.

Dr. Alex Russell, Executive Editor and Product Owner Science of Synthesis
Responsibilities include copyediting and proofreading for SOS updates and reference library projects. Making corrections to electronic files at the proof stages and checking the corrections on the revised proofs. Drawing checking/approval. Providing feedback to drawers and/or editors as necessary. Also, project coordination and management.
Background includes a BSc degree in chemistry and a PhD in organic chemistry at the University of Birmingham, under the supervision of Dr. J. S. Snaith. This was followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Birmingham with Professor C. W. Wharton and Dr. J. S. Snaith.

Dr. Vikas Rawat, Associate Editor - Science
Responsibilities include copyediting and proofreading for SOS updates and reference library projects. Making corrections to electronic files at the proof stages and checking the corrections on the revised proofs.
Background includes a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree at the University of Delhi and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT-CSIR) in Hyderabad with Dr. Bojja Sreedhar focusing on the development of new methods for carbon-heteroatom bond formation. This was followed by a position as a research scientist at Piramal Discovery Solutions (CRO) in Ahmadabad.

Michaela Frey, Production Manager
Responsibilities include managing the editorial/production interface; coordination of our cooperation partners; document template and FTP queries; Web site development, and the electronic production of manuscripts.
Background includes a degree in publishing studies from the Hochschule der Medien, Stuttgart. Previous publishing experience includes working as a book production editor trainee at Orell Füssli Verlag AG (Zurich, Switzerland) and as a student worker at the Center of Solarenergy and Hydrogenresearch (ZSW) (Stuttgart, Germany) creating and producing webpages, leaflets, posters and graphics.

Dr. Marcus White, Scientific Editor, Science of Synthesis
He has an MA in chemistry from Oxford University and undertook his PhD with Dr. Finian Leeper at Cambridge University, before conducting postdoctoral work with both Professor François Mathey (École Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France) and Professor Edda Gössinger (University of Vienna, Austria). Marcus has worked on SOS since 2005, first as part of the in-house Editorial Office and now as a freelance editor, focusing on copyediting and proofreading. He currently lives in Seoul and represents Thieme Chemistry at conferences and Roadshows, particularly in East Asia.
